Luke Oldenhave

I joined Compendor to work closely with industry experts and gain exposure to Tier 1 clients from day one. The continuous support from senior colleagues has not only accelerated my learning but also helped me maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Our people

At Compendor, you will mostly work with Dutch and German colleagues and clients. English is the main language we use, though speaking Dutch or German is definitely a plus.

Our team is informal, pragmatic, and full of experts who also know how to keep things fun. We’re looking for new associates who are eager to learn, self-starters, and comfortable working in an unstructured, laid-back environment while delivering top-notch consulting.

If you’re adaptable and take initiative, you’ll get plenty of support to grow and succeed with us.

Careers

The opportunity

You will collaborate with one of our senior consultants and client experts on projects that typically last between 6 to 12 months for leading Tier 1 financial institutions in the areas of "The Randstad," Frankfurt, and Munich.

Typical projects focus on transforming key objectives—such as driving growth, implementing the latest regulations, managing costs, or facilitating post-merger integration—into manageable initiatives that deliver high-quality results on time.

We provide a hybrid work environment, enabling you to work from home while occasionally visiting client sites. Throughout each project, you’ll gather and analyze information, conduct gap assessments, and formulate actionable recommendations. You’ll also monitor planning, resources, and budgets, present findings to client management, and implement solutions in partnership with their teams.

As an associate, you will receive training and coaching on how to better:

  • Structure problems and take action to solve them
  • Use data, facts, and logical reasoning to make rational decisions
  • Comprehend content (e.g., email, articles, spreadsheets) and synthesize into a clear and communicable format (either written or verbally)
  • Work effectively with diverse teams to come up with the best solution and move people and organizations to act
  • Establish trust-based relationships with clients to better serve their organizations
  • Communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner
  • Develop your leadership style, leveraging your own passions, strengths, and personal values

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Relevant work experience in the financial services industry
  • Ability to manage an independent workstream within a larger team project
  • Strong collaborative skills to foster an inclusive environment across all organizational levels
  • Comfort with ambiguous and rapidly changing situations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and the local office language(s)
  • Knowledge of capital markets, investing, asset management, banking, and regulations

Outline of our offer

  • A competitive salary with an annual bonus equivalent to one month's salary
  • A generous training budget dedicated to skills development, industry knowledge, and personal growth, allowing for 10 training days per year
  • Regular mentoring from colleagues, including guidance from a senior member to support your professional growth and career aspirations
  • An annual budget for meals and drinks with your mentor to exchange ideas and insights
  • A holiday allowance of 30 days per year for full-time employees
  • A company car or mobility budget, along with a laptop and mobile phone
  • A budget to set up your home office for a productive work environment
  • Opportunities to participate in various company events to connect with colleagues from our Dutch and German offices.
